My name is Jackie and I've been
collecting foreign names since 2002: so far I got Jackie, which I often
transliterate into Jack-hee with that typical Korean female name ending
("hee," as in Sohee or whatever), Sveta, and Cailin in addition to my
passport name.
I go to school in Palo Alto, currently a literature student at a fairly big research university and a part-time research assistant.
Right
now I'm running two blogs simultaneously: langueaddict.blogspot.com and
baesul.tistory.com. The former is in English, the latter in Korean. Language Addict is my personal blog, whereas Baesul
(which approximately means "excretion," with the desired implication
that we're a batch of sh*theads.) was initated as a kind of online
magazine, so I'm collaborating with a bunch of other writers. So if
you're literate in both languages, please stay tuned for updates from
both spots. Otherwise... I'll try to import and export my writings
between two as often as possible.
Language Addict
will serve as my writing reservoir, so I'll be uploading pretty much
all essays that I wrote and will write for coursework. Topics include
literature, theatre, films, and linguistics (woohoo).
